MTB routes among the best in Finland

The open landscapes of Liminka offer diverse opportunities for outdoor recreation. The starting point for the mountain biking routes is the Liminka Bay Visitor Centre, which also features the restaurant services of Hotel-Restaurant Liminka Bay and the accommodation services of the nature hotel, toilet facilities and bike rental and washing station. You can also access the routes directly from the Rantakylä Recreational Area that offers diverse outdoor recreation routes and activities all year round. The mountain biking routes of Liminka are suitable for cyclists of all ages and fitness levels, thanks to the region’s heavenly even terrain. A perfect spot for the first timers to give off-road cycling a try!

Cyclists can choose the route that best suits their skill and fitness level among four different alternative routes of different levels: a short 5-kilometre Kurran lenkki route, an easy 13-kilometre Torikan lenkki route, short 15-kilometre Joutsenreitti route and a demanding 26-kilometre Fatbike route. The Fatbike route is the only off-road winter cycling route in Liminka. When the ice is thick enough, you can also take your bike onto the tracks on the frozen surfaces of Liminka Bay and the Liminkajoki River. If you enjoy endurance sports, you can take to the 83-kilometre long Joutsenreitti, which is especially well-suited to calm enjoyment of peace and nature. The routes have been marked clearly with both reflective colour codes and arrow signs. You are also very welcome to use the mountain biking routes for hiking.
